| However, Forex is not a market in a traditional sense. It doesn't have a fixed location of a trading floor as, for example, future market does. Trading takes place in financial centers all over the world however and are: London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Frankfurt, Geneva & Zurich, Paris, Hong Kong and many others. Rather, it's an "Over The Counter" (OTC), or "Interbank" market, due to the fact that participants deal directly with one another via the telephone or an electronic network. Among all organizations and other participants having the need to make exchange operations on the market the following categories can be pointed out: Central banks of all countries, commercial banks, companies making foreign trade operations, investments funds, pension funds and other funds, broker companies and individuals. Now growing boom in computer and communication technologies has made forex accessible to small-scale investors too. |
